The 2nd Global City Tourism Summit, held under the theme "Local Tourism; Connecting Urban Economies and Tourism Innovation," serves as a platform for international collaboration to explore how local tourism can revitalize urban economies and drive innovation in the tourism industry.

As a global hub city and an international tourism destination, Busan remains committed to strengthening partnerships with cities around the world and taking the lead in creating a sustainable future where cities and local communities grow together through tourism.

The Tourism Promotion Organization for Global Cities (TPO) is a city-led international organization committed to advancing a sustainable future for urban tourism through cooperation and partnership among cities worldwide. Today, tourism does more than enhance urban competitiveness and revitalize local economies. It connects people, cultures, and cities, while creating new opportunities for inclusive and sustainable development.

TPO has adopted “Good Tourism for a Better World” as its guiding vision. Through this vision, we seek to promote a model of tourism in which visitors, local communities, cities, and the natural environment can prosper together. This year’s Summit is held under the theme, “Local Tourism: Connecting Urban Economies and Tourism Innovation.” It will provide a platform for cities around the world to share successful policies and innovative practices, while exploring how local tourism can bring new vitality to urban economies and support sustainable growth.

TPO will continue to place the values of Good Tourism at the heart of its work by strengthening trust and cooperation among cities and advancing practical approaches to sustainable urban tourism. Through our collective efforts, we aim to build cities where tourism contributes not only to economic development, but also to the well-being of communities and the quality of urban life.
